I think Emerson works for a girl. I slightly more prefer the spelling Emersyn. I know a lot of people don't like the random y's thrown in, and it's not that I think it makes it look any more feminine than the o spelling. I just prefer it. The name, itself, though is more of a GP for me. Probably not something I'd ever use, but it has grown on me a lot as of late.
