Rebecca?
Is Rebecca too plain? I'm torn between whether I like it or not. Maybe a fun middle name would give Rebecca some spunk.Rosemary.Pearl: 8/11/06

Rebecca is fine, although I prefer the spelling Rebekah

I don't think Rebecca is too plain. Now while I despise Reba and Becky, I think Becca is really cute. Combos I like are Rebecca Jane and Lily Rebecca (Rebecca makes a nice mn, imo).

I don't think it is too plain, actually I find it pretty. But I much prefer Rebekah - it looks so much better.

I love Rebecca. It's a pretty classic. I read on this board once of a Rebecca Caroline and I loved it!

I don't think it's plain at all. It's very pretty, and would be very refreshing these days.May I just say that I absolutely LOVE your daughter's name? Absolutely gorgeous!

Rebecca is nice enough. Becca and Beck are cute nn's. I dislike Becky. It's very 80s-little house on the prairie if that makes any sense at all. For some reason the name Becky has ALWAYS invoked the image of a girl with dishwater blond hair in a French braid.

You may be thinking of Becky Thatcher from "Tom Sawyer".

A definitely possibility! Strange how sometimes you have strong associations but can't quite place where they come from!Generate Your Own Glitter Graphics @ GlitterYourWay.com - Image hosted by ImageShack.us

Rebecca is only okay to me but for some reason I love the nickname Becca. Very pretty. I don't mind Becky-I think it's cute too.

Rebecca's certainly not too plain. I think it's lovely. Of course, I'm biased, because my youngest sister is Ruby Rebecca, but even so--it's a perfectly good name. :)Array

I really like the name Rebecca but I'm not too big on any of the nn's it carries with it. I could handle Becca but Becky just reminds me of the sound a chicken makes, or a snotty girl. heh.

I love Rebecca. One of my best friends and my cousin both have a little girl named Rebecca who goes by Becca as a nickname. I would love to use the name myself if it weren't for the fact that I'm a sort of honorary "Auntie" to both of these little girls.

Rebecca is not plain at all. It will still sound strong and feminine 100 years from now, on her birthday. :-)I knew a couple once who were torn between Evie Rebecca and Rebecca Evie. I love either combination, although I would use Eve on the birth certificate.

No, I don't think it's too plain. On the contrary, I think it's a stunning, absolutely beautiful name. It still has the "wow!" factor, IMO, even though it's quite common.
