I'm currently in love with this name, but I'm not sure which spelling I prefer. Augusten doesn't seem to be terribly legit, and Augustin seems to be pronounced somewhat differently. :-/ Also, I live near St. Augustine (AW-gus-teen), FL, so if I named my son Augustin, many people would call him Augustine, probably. :b I adore August, and prefer it to Augustus, Augustin, and Augusten, but I love to say Augusten--aw-GUS-ten. I adored the book "Running With Scissors" and I just saw the movie and it was great. You hear them say "Augusten" a million times in that movie, and it made me love the sound of it even more. :b When I was reading the book, about 3 years ago, I was pronouncing it in my head as AW-gus-ten, but I prefer the stress on GUS much more. BTW, Augusten Burroughs' birth name was Christopher. :b Not sure how/why he decided on Augusten.

I read it a while back and remembered it, but I just looked it up again on Wikipedia. His 'new' name is Augusten Xon Burroughs (Xon?), but he was born Christopher Robison. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augusten_Burroughs

I prefer Augustin, myself. The son of friends-of-the-family is Timothy Augustin, which I think is really handsome.Augusten Wilfred and Augusten Willis came to mind first. I think it'd go well with old-man names that haven't been revived yet--Augusten Walter versus Augusten Henry.Augusten Lionel
Augusten Leopold
Augusten Aldo
Augusten Bernard
Augusten Roger
Augusten Elias
Augusten Perry
Augusten Silas
Augusten Sidney
Augusten Jonas
Augusten Cedric
Augusten Beau

Augustin?I've never seen it spelled Augusten. I really like Augustus, but Augusti/en sounds too much like a descriptor to me.
