My husband and I are considering this name for our first baby due 01/10/07. My question is: is it too strange or foreign for an average american family? What middle names do you like with Johan? Our favorites so far are:

Johan Edward
Johan August
Johan Samuel

but we are open to other possiblities. Thanks!

How do you pronounce Johan? The J is actually pronounced as Y.

Maybe Johann would be more well known? I think Johan Samuel flows best.

I like Johan, but I prefer Johann and Johannes. Johan Samuel is the best of those combos IMO

Love Johan. It's not strange or too foreign sounding at all. For middle names I like Johan Edward the best of yours. Also,

Johan Sebastian (Bach's mom had good taste!)

I know a Johan and I think it's a cool name. I love the sound.

Johan August is a great combo, definitely a keeper.
