Re: Mara

I like it as long as it's pronounced MAHR-a, not MAYR-a. I also like Marra with the 'MAHR-a' pronunciation as well.
As far as aging well, I think so, at least IMO. I can definitely picture it on a little girl and I can also picture a grown woman taking care of her family as well. Both seem to have brown hair in my mind when I think of the name.
Mara Joan - Short names are good and simple, but this combo is a bit plain [my FN and MN are both 1 syllable each and it's really plain, but at the same time I also really like it]
Mara Johanna - This one is nice [if Johanna is pronounced jo-HAHN-nah], but the A endings are a bit repetitive; overall this would be my favorite
Mara Margaret - Too MarMar-y, but otherwise it's kinda cute-sounding
Mara vs Marie: Definitely Mara!

Some suggestions:
Mara Evelyn
Mara Nicole
Mara Taylor
Mara Katherine
Mara Michelle
Mara Madeline
Mara Danielle
Mara Jacqueline
