Re: Allegra

I love Allegra! It has such a nice sound and meaning and general aura of cheerfulness :)I prefer it without a nn, but Ally and Legra could work I suppose.
I don't like the name Cara much, but I can imagine it on a person of any age, and I can't see it getting dated.
ETA: Reading the other replies, they mention allergy medication? I've never heard of it before so it doesn't affect my impression, but I live in England. If it's really well known wherever you are it might be something to take into account.

It is, but not like certain brand names like Mercedes and Jemima. I think if I met someone with this name, I would automatically think of the medication, but it wouldn't ruin the name for me like Aunt Jemima's did to the name Jemima.
Nobody sings a love song quite like you do
And nobody else can make me sing along
Nobody else can make me feel
That things are right when I know they're wrong
