I prefer Patrick on a boy and Patricia on a girl...

But it's such a STRONG name!
Don't you know anything? Girls' names are weak and sissy! She has to give her daughter a boys' name, otherwise she'll come out wearing a pink tutu and fairy wings and will get beat up on the playground.
People who give their daughters boys' names because they want them to be strong women are buying right into the gender stereotypes that they're trying to defy. It's disgusting.

I think the woman is going overboard

Ditto
Patricia would be a much better choice for a girl in my opinion.

Oh please, now that's just ridiculous!
:)
:)
so I do have a line...
and it's been crossed.
I'm all for (some) boys names on girls. I'm a big (big) fan of Georgie and think Frankie is cute for a girl.
ususally, I'm pretty open-minded if someone wants to name their kid something unique, I encourage that. but Patrick, I have to say, please don't.

Georgie
I'm not huge on Georgie, but when I play Create-A-Family games I like to use Geordie as a nickname for Georgia, Georgeanna, and so on. I think it's a cute one, even though it's technically masculine.

The female variants of George are really starting to grow on me. They're so uncommon around here. Georgine, Georgeanne, and Georgia would have to be my favorites.

I think Patricia Rose would be a bit better or Patrice :)

Geez.
What about Patricia? Or Patrika, which I've heard once. Or--going for sound rather than etymological connection--Patria?
Edited to add that I'd consider Patrice an option for a girl, too. I believe it's listed in the database as being male but I've heard it on women before, never on men. It's less common than Patrick and Patricia so I would consider it to be more versatile and it's association to either sex less solid.

Reminds me of Pat from SNL
Anyone who wants names their daughter Patrick better start saving for the therapy bill now. All the Pat jokes alone, plus being called Patty, why on earth would anyone consider Patrick for a girl?

No, bad idea. I suppose they've rejected Patrica?
That's just wrong. Why not chose Patricia or Patrice? You could always call her Patty, which sounds like the masculine Paddy, which is common in Ireland.
Not good at all!

Yuck - that's awful.
Loving Theodore and Chloe!
No. No. No. There are some names that can pass as unisex. In my opinion, Patrick is not one of them! It's all boy. Patricia is the feminine version. But not Patrick on a girl :-(

That's terrible! Patrick is one of my favorite male names. On a girl it's...disturbing.
