Names of twins, separated and adopted
So they got named by different families.Adriana and Tamara: Really sound like sisters, I like both names. I saw a TV program about the sisters, how they met at 18, none of them knew that she had a twin sister
Richard and Magnus: They met at 8 in Sweden, the orphanage had not told the families that they were twins. The names are not similar but they are both classic names in Sweden.
Juan and Ahmal: Very different, one sounds very Spanish, I don't know about Ahmal, sounds very unusual to me.- She said he made a racial slur!
- Racial? She is Swedish!
- Maybe he called her Meatball."I’ve given it a lot of thought, and I’ve decided to be spontaneous."

I remember about Juan and Ahmal! I did a paper on identical twins separated at birth for a school assignment. Juan grew up in Mexico or Spain, and Ahmal was raised in Egypt.I remember a couple of other twinsets I read about in my research:Laura and Bridget: they were British.Jack and Oscar: this is strange. They weren't adopted out, but their parents divorced in Germany right around the start of WWII. Jack lived in Aregentina and was raised Jewish. Oscar stayed in Germany and was a member of the Nazi Youth.Gladys and Goldie: I remember that they took an immediate dislike to each other when they were reunited. I think one had an affair with the other's husband even.

I thought that was just a joke! You know, how the twins were separated at birth, one goes to Spain and is named Juan, and the other ends up in Egypt and is named Amal. Juan's mother finds out about Amal and contacts him. She tells her husband she'd like a picture of Juan's brother, and he replies, "Why? They're twins; if you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal!" *groan*So, there *really* were twins separated at birth named Juan and Amal / Ahmal?edited for spelling

I like Laura and Bridget.Gladys and Goldie sound very similar, like they were named by their birth mother. Funny that they did not like each other.OT, very interesting subject. Did you find that they were very similar, in interests and temperament?- She said he made a racial slur!

- Maybe he called her Meatball."I’ve given it a lot of thought, and I’ve decided to be spontaneous."

yes, I didIn a lot of ways, they were very similar. Some of it was surely genetic, like Oscar and Jack both tending to sneeze the same number of times. Some was pure coincidence, like the Jim twins. They were adopted by different families across the country and were both named James. One's middle name was Alan and one's Allen. You got to figure, in that time (late forties and early fifties, I think) James Allen/Alan was a very popular combo. Both had married women named Linda, which was of course VERy popular for women their age. Both divorced Linda and married Bettys.Other things, the coincidence was just too odd to ignore, like the fact that the Jims, though they lived very far apart, both took vacations to the same beach area. That paper was about the only research paper that I really enjoyed working on.
