What connotation does it have that would make you hesitate to use it?
In the US, it does sometimes tend to be seen as a "black" name, but not as strongly as some of hte names on Rachel's list below.
I don't mind the name myself, I don't have any particular associations, negative or positive, with it. I do think it sounds a bit too similar to malcontent, but that's as far as it goes.
