Gabi/Gabby
I really love the name Gabriella and might use it someday, but the comments I've read about the nn Gabby seem to be negative. It doesn't bother me too much, I'd just like to know why people say it is, my most hated word (especially when it comes to naming), "tacky".
Everyone has a right to their opinion and it by no means will stop me from using the name, I'd just like a few opinions.

Gabriella is a very pretty name, although I slightly more prefer Gabrielle. I don't, however, like the NN Gabby. I guess it reminds me of someone who might talk a lot, and the sound isn't very attractive. For me, it ruins a gorgeous name. Just my opinion, though.
I'd much rather use the NN Ella or Ellie (my fave NNs for this name), or even Briella or Brielle.

I really like both Gabriella and Gabrielle and don't even mind Gabby. I know many people seem to dislike the nn but I think it's cute. Still, I'd be more likely to use Ella or Ellie.
EDA that even though I like Ella and Ellie, I feel that Gabby would probably come more easily to me as a nn.

I actually love Gabi/Gabby-I think it's adorable. I love the name Gabrielle-it is on our short list for a daughter, and I would def. use the nickname Gabi. Very pretty and the "talks a lot" thing doesn't really bother me. That's not the first thing I think of. :)
I like the name Gabrielle, Gabriella is okay. But I, like others, disliike the nn Gabby. I do not think that it is tack, I just don't like it. I would much prefer to see Brie, Brielle, Elle, Ella, Ellie, etc.

I don't like Gabi/Gabby because it sounds like someone that talks. I don't like Gabriella anyway, but each to his own.
Loving Theodore and Chloe!
Personally...
I LOVE it! I prefer Gabrielle but Gabby is a for sure nn if I could ever use it...my boyfriend doesnt like it with his last name at all, so its not on my list right now.
And any other nn mentioned, such as Ella...I would prefer the nn Gabby. The only negative connection I can think of is someone who talks a lot, and it doesnt bother me. I find Gabby or Gab cute

To me, I just don't like it because it sounds like someone that talks way too much. :) I LOVE Gabriella, but for some reason, Gabby just puts me off. However, Gabbi or Gabi don't seem to bother me as much (looking at them), but I think it's the sound I don't like. Other nn's for Gabriella could be:
Briel
Ella
Elle
Bri
WDYT?

I LOVE those four!! I'll most likely use those nn's as well; especially Elle, which I adore. I love how flexible Gabriella is :)
