Caroline, Innovative nicknames?

DH and I love the name Caroline, but are put off by the nicknames, Carol, Carrie (or I've even heard Callie, which is our cat's name) I've wracked my brain for alternative nicknames, but cannot think of any. Perhaps some of you have a great idea? We're really having a hard time coming up with a name for our daughter who is coming in December, it's making me crazy because I like to have things planned out way in advance! Thanks for any input.

Congratulations on your new baby & on picking such an elegant name? What is the middle name? I'd go with another "C" name for the middle name, and nickname CC (CeeCee), which I think is sweet.

Caroline is the name I wanted for my youngest dd, Anna Caroline. Cara was the nn I had intended to use. There is also Caro.

I'm not so keen on Carol or Carrie either.

I like Coco and Callie. Lina or Li could also work.

Caro has always been my favourite.

Short, retro, snappy, and much less contrived than, say, Lina.

Coco

I think the best thing about having a daughter with a name that begins with c is calling her Coco. that's what I plan to do, even if it's a stretch in the case of the name Ciana. but it isn't very far from Caroline to Coco.

I have a sister named Caroline and we call her "Lina," pronounced with a long I, not like "Leena". When she was younger a lot of her friends called her "Kee". I've also heard the nn Caro, but that is unattractive to me.

How about Cara?

It means "friend" in Irish and "dear one" in Italian. It's pronounced "CAR-a," not "CARE-a."

Hmm . . . difficult. I enjoy nns that go by the last part of a name, instead of the first - what about Line (LEEN)? Or Lynn? Or Linny?
