Samantha or Sam
Which one is better? Should I go by Samantha or Sam for school?

I've known quite a few girls named Samantha who have been called both Sam and Samantha. If I were you, I would introduce myself as Samantha. Your friends will probably call you Sam at least sometimes anyways.

I would introduce myself as Samantha and let your friends nn you if they wish. A nn is more charming when its given by friends, don't you think?

I would go by Samantha if I were you. I don't like Sam for a boy, let alone for a girl.
Loving Theodore and Chloe!
Sam is a good nickname...but it depends on if u WANT a nick name. just remember that nick names stick!

Depends. Do you want your friends to address you as Sam? Do you feel like people are being more familiar / casual with you when they call you Sam, or when they call you Samantha? I'd pick whichever one gives you more of a feeling of distance, and let your good friends call you the other one. If I were you, I'd introduce myself as Samantha to profs & guys, and as Sam to the girls in the dorm. =D
