I had a friend in nursing school named Mercy, she was from Nigeria and extremely smart and sweet, so I have a good association with it. Her name was often mistaken for Marcy, though. But some of her older patients liked to call her "Nursie Mercy". (I also know that fellow nurse here at BtN, Lillian, also loves the name Mercy. :b) Her mn was Fatima, btw.
I wouldn't necessarily use it, but only because there are other names I love more. I would love it on someone else's child, though. If I had to or wanted to use a virtue name, though, it would be on the top of the list. :)
