I really like the name Cale, but only for a boy. It's great on its own, or as a NN for Caleb, but I personally prefer it all on its own :)

Definitely not for a girl, but it just seems trendy to me, somewhat made up. Or just Caleb without the -b. Or worse yet, a kre8tiv spelling of kale, which is a vegetable. :-/

I like Cal for a boy with this spelling. I prefer Callie and Calla for girls.

A boy if absolutely necessary. I don't care for it either way though.

Don't like it at all. Kale is a vegetable and nothing more to me.
There IS however, an old-time race car driver called Cale Yarborough, so you can see it has been used, but I would tend to think of it more as a man's name.
