Magnanimous Despair
is what I think of when I see Hope. Sorry! It's from a poem by Andrew Marvell called The Definition of Love. (http://www.luminarium.org/sevenlit/marvell/definition.htm)It's a good poem. Anyway, I don't really like Hope as a name, and I'm actually not overly fond of it as an emotion, either. That's why I think of the poem.

What are the convulsions of a city in comparison with the insurrections of the soul?
Man is a depth still greater than the people.
