Della?

I lived near Delafield, Wisconsin, so every time I heard Della I would automatically think"field". Doesn't sound like a name to me.
I know a little girl with this name, but I much prefer Adela.

I like it, it's pretty.
I knew a woman named Della, Canadian... my friend's mom. She was sweet and gorgeous... she was once a model.
oh, hmm also reminds me of Adella, think that's Australian.
At first it sounds like Deli, sort of like a food market. At first, I thought it reminded me of Ella, then I thought of food and cheese.
I don't mind it but it is a character in the soap opera Days of Our Lives... I know I am fifteen and I watch soap operas... I have for years... lol
now that you say that...
I think of a cow too. There's a reason, I just can't think of it.

As long as she never goes to the Netherlands it's fine (overhere a "del" is a sl*t, and everyone will think of that when they hear Della)
Della Reese
Because of her, I think it could work on a person and as a full name. As for the name itself it's okay, I kind of like it, I don't dislike it.

I think it's sweet, and it reminds me of a name that would be called "Southern". I'm not sure yet whether I like it as a nn, or if I'm okay with it as a full fn. It's a nice choice, however, and I can see it used on a person.
I love it as a nickname for Adele and Adelaide.
