Love it as a nickname.

It reminds me of Marlo Thomas, who I thought was just it, as far as singers go, when I was very young. I love it as a nickname for Margaret or Margalo; I think it's really cute and retro sound, like Caro for Caroline. As a full name, I don't think it has quite enough backbone to stand alone.
I also like Marlon for a boy. :)

Are we the only ones here who've heard of Marlo Thomas?! LOL. Doesn't seem masculine to me. Marlowe, yes, but not Marlo.

Apparently, lol.
When I hear Marlowe, I think of the writer Christopher and "The Passionate Shepherd to his Love." It looks completely masculine to me.
But Marlo? C'mon--how in the world is That Girl masculine? :D (A pictoral reference to Marlo Thomas back in the day, for those who've never heard of That Girl: http://www.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1335/Mptv/1335/3091_0046.jpg?path=gallery&path_key=0060034)
I'm really glad to know that I'm not the only one who makes outdated references here, lol. ;)
