Tadhg is prn TYG like the 1st syllable in tiger. You're right, though, you'd have to explain spelling & prn constantly.

I really like Micaiah! The comments on the name kind of threw me off a bit (read them... ick! McKyah?!), but I still really like it.
Ah, on another forum someone claimed it was pronounced Tag. I prefer that prn., but I still think it'd be too much hassle for the poor kid.
