Wanted a boy
What do you think of this sibset? These children are a friend of a friend's cousins. She told me that her aunt and uncle really wanted boys and kept trying until they had one. Josephine Elizabeth (22)
Alexandra Rose (20)
Danielle Maria (19)
Charlotte Jane (15)
Georgia Renee (13)
Michaela Anne (9)
David-Peter Andrew (6)They go by Joe, Alex, Dan, Charlie, George, Mike, and David·•·Eliza·•·
(See PPs in profile)
All children, except one, grow up.... You always know after you are two. Two is the beginning of the end.

I like most of these. Not fond of Elizabeth or Georgia, but there's certainly nothing wrong with those names. In fact, I don't mind them at all on other people's kids. And although I don't mind masculine nns on girls, I'd give them different nns, just to suit my style. :o)Josephine Elizabeth - Phinney (my grandma's maiden name was Finney)
Alexandra Rose - Xandra (ZAN-druh)
Danielle Maria - Nell or Nellie
Charlotte Jane - Arlie or Lottie
Georgia Renee - Gigi or Gia
Michaela Anne - Chaela (Kayla)
David-Peter Andrew - I'd actually have put the hyphen between Peter & Andrew, myself. And I'd still have nned him Dave, lol.Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts

Josephine Elizabeth "Joe" - I love both names & the combo, although I prefer the sp. Elisabeth & the sp. Jo for the NN (Joe is all boy imo)Alexandra Rose "Alex" - I love both names & the combo, but I don't like the NN Alex...it's a boy's name imoDanielle Maria "Dan" - I like Danielle & love Maria. The combo is very nice, but I don't like the NN...Dan is a boy's name imo.Charlotte Jane "Charlie" - Both names are nice, as is the combo, but I don't like the NN...it's all boyGeorgia Renee "George" - I don't like Georgia at all, but Renee is nice, although I prefer the sp. Rene. I don't like the NN...again, all boyMichaela Anne "Mike" - I love the name Michaela and I like Anne; a very nice combination, but I don't like the NN...too boyishDavid-Peter Andrew "David" - I like David & Andrew, but I don't like Peter at all.

The names aren't bad at all. I especially like Charlotte and Georgia. It's the nicks I don't like (with the exception of Alex and Charlie). My sister did the same thing (in a way). She had a Christopher and wanted a Nicholas Ryan. The second child was a girl so she named her Ryan. Then she and her husband tried four more times until they finally had a son (Aimee, Emily, Kimberley, Nicholas). All of the girls know and laugh about it. Still, I'm not sure I'd want my girls to know they were meant to be boys. ;-)

Their full names are impossible!
I like some of the nn, but definitely change the spelling.
I would make it: Jo or Joey, Alex, Dani, Lottie, Ren or Renni (for her middle name), Kay, and David or Davie.

I think I would have had their nicknames Jo, Alex, Dani, Charlie, Georgie, Michi, and David.
As for names I like Danielle, Michaela, and Josephine nn Josie best.

I really like a lot of those names...I love masculine nicknames on girls, like Vinnie and Jimmie--as long as they've got full names like Vincenza and Jamesina. I think they're really cute and spunky, as well as rather old-fashioned without sounding pretentious.Of those names, I like:Josephine
Alexandra Rose
Maria
Charlotte Jane
Georgia Renee
Anne
DavidIf they were, for some reason, my children, though, they'd be nicknamed Posy, Xie (EX-ee), Nell, Tatty, Georgie, Mickey, and Dave. :DArray

"Yes," said Laura.A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.

I'm not so fond of the nicknames, but the names are pretty.

The names themselves are all very nice I think but you can definitely tell they wanted a boy! I especially like Alexandra Rose, Georgia Renee, Michaela Anne and David-Peter Andrew. The nicknames however... Joe (though I wouldn't spell it like that) Alex and Charlie I have no problem with as they have a nice "tomboyish" style and they are readily accepted on girls nowadays but Dan, George and Mike are just too masculine, even as nicknames, to work on girls.

Wow, I'd be unhappy with my parents if I were them. It's one thing to want a boy; it's another thing to be unaccepting of the girl you have. The names aren't actually that bad, but forcing a masculine NN is so annoying. I would revolt and probably go my my FN and MN just to feminize it more.

I agreeIt must be awful for the daughters, feeling they were just "failed attempts". As for the names, I find them classic but erring on the dull side ... Especially the boy's name. After all those years of trying, they could've come up with something more inspired!_____________________________________________________________________Elinor

I dont like David-Peter.I think its going too far with all the masc. nns.Joe- its ok, Josie, or even Joey would have been better.
Alex- This is ok
Dan- Dani, or Danny would have been better
Charlie- This is ok
George- Waaaaay too masc.
Mike- Mikey would have been better, or Chaela (prn like Kayla), or Micky
David- Understandable
