how would you pronounce this ...
Aquanoun has got me thinking about Riordan.
Which way would you pronounce it ... Ray-ohr-dan or REAR-dan?

It's pronounced REE-ur-dan...
which, with most Irish accents gets kinda contracted to REER-din. Exactly like Aiver says.

I really like REAR-dan the best. I know someone called Riordan and he pronounces it this way. I think it is a great name.
I'd pr. it Ree-OR-dan.

READ-den. Like rear end. Which is why I don't like it.
I've never heard ray-or-dan before.

Yes, like Rear end, which is a common joke in Ireland.
despite its meaning - "of high kings". Not "little poet king" as it says in this website.

as I said, I prefer Ray-ohr-dan, but I think unless you're in Ireland or come across someone more "name savvy " (like all of us here!), you'll mostly get either REAR-dan or REE-or-dan. I'm facing the same problem with Mila/Milla, so I know what must be going through your head!
Glad I could give you another prospective. ;)

I love Milla (off subject, I know)
Ray-ohr-dan is the way I would pro. it.
