Lila?
What do you think of the name Lila? I heard it today, and thought it was pretty.

Are you saying this Lie-la? If so, I don't really like it that much. It means night in hebrew, but that doesn't help, it only makes me think of a word. And there are also all those varients like Leila, Layla, Lilah (which is really messy, I prefer Lila), Laila, etc., and nobody can ever agree about the pronounciation and those are the names I associate it with. It sounds kind of pretty, but it gets talked about too much. Of the L-heavy names, I like Lilla (most similar), Lily, Lillian, Lilia, Lulu, Luli, Lolly, and more I've probably forgotten (No L-la name in sight, you'll find). And the last three as nicknames only.

Love it & I don't think its popularity here ...reflects the general population too much! Its not like its in the top 10 anywhere, is it?

Gorgeous. It is both nostalgic and exotic at the same time. It has a very fresh air to it right now, at least for me.

I can't stand it the same way I can't stand Anna or Joshua. It just rubs me the wrong way for no good reason, and the fact that it's quite popular on these boards doesn't help it any.But I do appreciate the fact that you haven't put that ghastly H on the end. ;)Array

"Yes," said Laura.A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.

I think the name Lila is really pretty. Have you thought about a middle name for that name?
