What's your opinion on siblings with FNs starting with the same letter?
I ask this because I am finding myself liking a lot of A names atm.
I really want to use Anthony and Asher as FNs and maybe even Annabelle.
Do you think it matters if say all but one child (in a sibset of 3-4) have their names starting with the same letter?

Can't wait to hold you!

It's not something I would do but I don't hate it. I dont mind if the sibset is two out of three(like Joseph, Dominic and Joseph) But if there are four I think the 1 sticks out. Annabelle, Asher and Anthony make a nice sibset imo.

I actually think it could be quite cool - back in the 80s it was a little cheesy because everyone did it, but I think it could enjoy a bit of a revival. I actually thought about doing the same thing myself with Anthony and Allegra (A names are the dominant ones on my list as well), so I say if you want to then go for it!

I vascillate on this issue. Sometimes, it really bugs me, especially if most of the sibs have names starting with a certain letter and one doesn't. Other times, I really couldn't care less, since I happen to like a lot of E and V names, and I could easily have 1/2 of my kids with alliterated names. :o) Ultimately, it's about the parents, and what names they like and agree upon. If it just so happens that 3 out of 4 kids have names starting with A, so be it. :o)Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts

Imo, it is confusing. I do not want to name my kids names that start with the same letter, however, I may if there is no other name I like! I think it is crazy when people have like eight kids and name them all with R names or something. I could stand 3 or 4 siblings with the same name bettter.

In my opinion it's not always a good idea, because people use their initials to identify themselves a lot. If a letter arrives for A. Surname, which teen is it for? How do you decide who opens it, and what do you do when the wrong teenager opens another's private mail? And when they've all left home and scattered to three different cities, and letters arrive for A. Surname, how do you know where to send them on to, without opening them and invading your childrens' privacy?I know two families who have had this problem, one with two daughters whose names start with T, and one with two sons who both have the initials A.S.So in my opinion, life is complicated enough without adding avoidable hassles, and this is a hassle that is avoidable!

Well coming from 5 K names...believe me it can get confusing! But there's nothing terriby wrong with it as long as the names aren't too similar. Anthony and Asher would be great together!~~Kelsey~~

Asher, Anthony and Annabelle are all great names! I think if you really like a name, you should just use it. I don't like the idea of actually striving to make all your kids name 'match' by having the same initials or whatever, but if that's what ends up happening due to the names that you like, then so be it.And I don't think that the 4th child in a sibset with all A's would feel left out - to be honest, they would probably never notice the difference! As long as you loved their names as much as Asher, Anthony and Annabelle, and had chosen it because of this, there really is nothing to complain about.Do you know what you are having yet? Well your on to it :-)...it was pink and not a coincidence. But now I have a new ticker from Lilypie...I started thinking the ticker central one was a tad too chunky for my liking.

The new one is very sweet. And congratulations! I think I'd like my first baby to be a girl - though of course I won't complain *too* much if it's a boy, lol. And I can't wait til my nephew gets here!Have you decided on a name yet? Is Annabelle the only one that really grabs your attention at the moment?Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts

Thanks :-). I don't want to use Annabelle for her lol because then her initials will be A.J (first daughter has to have mn Jayne) and I want my first son to be Anthony Joseph. I'm not keen on them having the exact same initials!Right now I'm thinking either Clara (with the KLER-a pronounciation...I can't stand KLAH-rah), Isabel, Meredith or Talia.

All lovely, I really like Isabel and Clara Jayne! Clara is one of the names that my brother and his girlfriend had picked out if my nephew was a girl...that and Helena and Cassandra, and I think they particularly liked Jade.Good luck with everything!Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts

I don't really like it, but as long as the names aren't too similar (Annabelle, Andrew, and Annelise) and don't have the same initial sound combination, I can deal with it.I'm fine with all but one kid has the same initial. For the record, I LOVE Asher and like Annabelle (prefer Annabel) and Anthony a lot.

I find it cutesy and contrived. But if you love the names, then you should use them. Anthony, Asher and Annabelle are all terrific names. If any child is psychologically damaged by not having a name that starts with the same letter, then that child has more serious problems to be dealt with.

I never cared for one out of four or more having a different first initial. One out of three is not so bad. I would do all or a more even number. Similar to you, I like alot of M names - Meredith, Maverick, Malachi, Maia, Malie, Madeline, etc.! I would do all the M's or maybe just two.

I don't think it matters if all but one child have a letter beginning with the same letter. Just because names start with the same letter doesn't necessarily make them similar. Say you love the names Asher, Anthony, Annabelle and Steven. I would much rather have you use names you love than have you compromise and use names you feel lukewarm towards just so your children's first names won't have repetitious initial letters.BTW, I'd much rather see sibs named Asher, Anthony and Annabelle than Larry, Gary and Mary.

I don't mind sibsets all starting with the same letter. But if every child but one starts with the letter 'A' for example when their name starts with an 'M', the one child might feel left out. That is the only thing I can see wrong with it.

I thinks it totally fine unless you start using names just to fit a theme. If you truly love more A names go with it, its not like you're going to become a Duggar (16 or 17 kids all with the letter J even Jinger!).

I don't think it matters as long as the middle name/s starts with a different letter coz if you get mail and you have two children with the initials KLM (for example) it would get concufusing, although a friend of mines name is Kristen and he has a sister named Kylie and his dad's name is Ken and they sometimes get confused coz they have the same surname. Anyway, like I said, I don't think it matters also as long as the names don't sound too much alike (Jade and Jane) or something like that.Cassie Anne

Doesn't bother me in the slightest, personally. My grandparents had Mary, Michael, and Thomas, and Uncle Tom's certainly not scarred for life. I don't see why it'd be a problem, and I think that any child who felt slighted by having a different initial would have some bigger issues that needed dealing with, heh.I like a lot of L names, so I know the feeling, heh. Imagine: Lalena, Lyle, Lemuel, Luella, Leopold, Lucasta, Lorenz, Lazarus, Lenore, Luna, etc. ;)Array

I really don't think it matters. Maybe I would notice it but only cos I am a name nerd! I am guessing most ordinary people wouldn't even realise! LOL. Use the names you like :)
