In my never-ending quest to find nice Jewish girls' names: what do you think of Dinah? Any combos?-- Sarah

I love Dinah. Sounds like a sweet, Southern girl. :b I never knew it was the name of Alice's cat in AIW, so I don't have that association, lol. But I definitely think of the song, though it's not a bad association, imo. :)

I like it although I can't stand the English pron. die-nah...
I'm not fond of the Biblical story either.

I like it very much.Dinah is a sweet name that's feminine and pretty without being simpering and frilly. I also like the similar Diana, but I think Dinah definitely has more character.

Have you ever heard "Dinah" as played by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli (aka, like the best jazz guitarist and violinist ever :D)? One listen to that recording, and I can't imagine not liking the name.I also think of Dinah the cat, so I hear it as a sweet name--but definitely with some spunk. Fantastic choice--I absolutely love Dinah (but for other people, mostly--dunno that I'd use it)--and I think it's really swingin'. :DArray (would be happy to share her copy of "Dinah" if you've been deprived thus far in your life)

...And then he said, "You're independent, aren't you?"
"Yes," said Laura.A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.

No, I've never heard it -- I'd be delighted to, if you are, indeed, willing to share. :)-- Sarah

I must warn you that it may take a while, because I suspect it's not one I have on CD (and thus, is stuck on a computer not currently hooked up to the internet), but the moment I can transfer it over to this one, I'll put it up on Yousendit.com for you and PM you the address. :)I've also got a video of Django playing it, which is amazing to watch. For a guy using only two fingers on his left hand, he was an amazing guitarist. :oArray
