Re: Which spelling + WDYT

I prefer Darren. I know someone with this name and this spelling and so have positive associations with it. I know that he dislikes his name though again due to our associations with the name as teenagers. He wishes when he was younger he had thought to go with his middle name which is a very common name. He is however after more than two decades working in the same industry too well known as Darren.

He dislikes it due to a personal association?
When we were young teenagers there was a police fly on the wall documentary on which ended up featuring a lot of young men stealing cars and driving them around the local estate without licence or insurance until the police ended up chasing them the young men then either crashed or decamped leading to a foot chase. The men were invariably called Darren or Lee (his best mate of 40 years now).
