I haven't heard of any negative connotations! And I know a few kids with this name. If you like it, I would say use it.

I understand you might not have known about Tory if you didn't live in the UK, but our Conservative Party is called the Tories. A right-wing person is called a Tory. I grew up with the name from the English dub of Cardcaptor Sakura, so I have both positive and negative associations.
