What name that has a good meaning has been ruined for you?
I'm sure that you know a name that you KNOW has a good meaning, but there is one person who is or was a bad person and thus ruined that name for you.For me, the name David has been ruined because of a teacher in primary school. The name means "beloved," "famed," and "loved," and these are positive meanings. But my former primary school teacher was sort of an arse to me, and I grew to dislike the name because of that. I can't really imagine calling myself or my future children David, even though I love the meaning.
Also, my birth middle name has been ruined because of bullies in school. They would pick on me and call me horrible names because of my (well now dead) middle name, and I don't feel comfortable looking at or writing it because of that. That is why I am going to legally change it soon.Anyway, what name has been ruined for you?

I love the name Ginger, but one of my dad's friends when I was growing up was (is) named Ginger.I feel like it would seem that I'm naming the child after her or in her honor. And honestly, I just don't want to do that. We're not close, she has a lot of habits/traits I wouldn't want associated with my child, and I think for a long time people in my life absolutely would think of her first rather than the new "Ginger." And while I wouldn't blane them at all for that, I'd still be frustrated about it.
Lol the fact that according to this site David can mean either “beloved” or “uncle” really puts me off it.
