Faye is okay, especially for a middle name, but that spelling only. Fay just looks incomplete. I prefer Faith.
Flora is okay. It's old-fashioned but it's also somehow a bit splashy and glamorous. If Florence is a quiet, gardening-and-reading grandma, Flora's the ex-chorus girl grandma who should have been one of the Golden Girls.
Sylvie is just kind of weak and flat. Sylvia is much nicer.
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!
