Erskine is a place name first name and also a Scottish surname. Erskine is on Scotland’s west coast not far from Glasgow. It can be pronounced either errs-KIN or urs-KIN depending on the Scottish accent. errs-KIN pronounced more like airs-KIN is the one I hear most often.

Do you know why BtN would say the British pronunciation is U-skin?
I have no idea but I live in Scotland around 60 miles from Erskine. My father is Scottish and from the west coast and my husband has lived in Scotland his whole life so I can guarantee my pronunciation.
