Opinions on the name Cassia?
Cassia Yates would be her full name.
Unsure on a middle name yet.

The name Cassia is beautiful in my opinion (adding it to my favs list now), but frankly I don’t think it goes well with the last name Yates. The ee-uh followed by the yay sounds awkward to me.
Can I ask where you’re from? Because I am not sure If this is a British accent vs American accent problem?
I’m from Czechia, so my accent is neither British nor American. If it helps, I’ve seen more American TV shows and movies than British ones, so American is what I’m more used to hearing. I’ve noticed there’s another person in the comments here who said the first and last name combo doesn’t sound good to them, and their profile says they’re American.
Thank you for replying! Yes I noticed that. I’m British and I’ve found that I’ve not had that feedback on more British sites (such as MumsNet) so I was thinking it might be an accent differentiation.
I’ll definitely keep it in mind though.

I really like it. It's different without being weird and can easily be shorted to Cassie as an available nickname option. It reminds me of this series I once read years and years back where the main character was named this. Although I didn't care much for the story and felt that it and the writing could have been much better, the name Cassia always struck me as nice. 🙂

Was the book ‘matched’? I read it as a teen and it’s where I got the name from!

Yup, that's the one.
Love Cassia! I think it's a beautiful and perfect name.
I really like Cassia.
I like it. It's sort of between Lucia and Cassandra and reminds me of cinnamon.
Is it pronounced Cash-uh or Cass-ee-uh? I like the second pronunciation and actually knew someone with the name once, but I don't think the ee-uh ending sounds too good with the y sound of Yates. I'm not too sure Cash-uh Yates sounds all that much better.
I love it! It's not popular (so you won't have multiple heads turning when you call for her), it doesn't have a weird spelling (excellent for meeting people for the first time and any future coffee orders), and despite being the name of a spice, it sounds close enough to Cassie that people won't think you were trying too hard to be unique with naming your daughter. All wins in my book!
I love CASS-ee-uh. CASH-uh is okay but not my favorite.
It's a very pretty name and I love it.
Which pronunciation would you be using? I like CASS-ee-uh but not CASH-uh.
I second this.
Cass-ee-uh
