James has: Jamie, Jim, Jay and James as options too. Yes it's well used, but it is handsome.

I choose Felix because even though James sounds better, it is used so often that I don't feel attached to it. It's a common middle name, too. But Felix comes from the meaning of joy, and sounds very articulate and bright! Fix-It-Felix is also a nice mmory.

I prefer Felix. James certainly isn't a bad name, but it's rather worn.

James. Felix is also nice though.

Definitely Felix. It feels both modern & old, down-to-earth & sophisticated, youthful & adult. It also works anywhere in a name combo, or even on its own. No need for nicknames.

James is definitely a middle name only - as a first name it needs a substantial second name like Reginald, or a string of middle names. It feels like it could only pair with "old" names (like Reginald) and not "modern" names (like Anakin). It also needs to change over a lifetime (Jimmy, James, Jim), which is different from "has the options to".

I had to check the poll to see which one I voted for, lol. I like Felix and James about equally. Looks like I voted James; I guess I slightly prefer James because it feels more timeless while Felix is rather vintage-trendy.

I agree that James is overused, but so is Felix in many European non-English speaking countries.
