HelpCaspia, Laurel and sib sets
On another name site somebody was asking about naming sisters Caspia and Laurel and if the link was too in your face. I love Caspia and Laurel so wondered what people here thought?
Also in my workplace this week there have been a couple of sib-sets that surprised me.
Two sisters
Macy
Jocasta
And a brother and sister
Leopold
Ariadne

Caspia is a genus of marine snails. When I looked up Caspia to see what the link to Laurel might be, snails came up before the alternative name for Limonium or marsh-rosemary. Safe to say, most people are unlikely to know the connection.
Leopold and Ariadne are a great set. Jocasta is such a tragic character that I wouldn't use the name myself.

I have no idea what link you’re alluding to. I really like Laurel but generally hate the practice of lopping off a final consonant to feminize a male name, so Caspia irks me.
Macy & Jocasta is a bizarrely discordant set. I love Jocasta.
Leopold & Ariadne is fun, though I would never pair the two.

I love Caspia and Laurel! I think Jocasta and Ariadne would work together, but not the others.
I do not see the link at all, so it's not too obvious to me! They seem a bit mismatched, if anything - Caspia makes me think of Caspian, like the CS Lewis character, so it's fanciful and regal, and Laurel is very wordy and subdued, and rather plain next to it. They are both nice names and would be an interesting sighting for sure!
Leopold and Ariadne are GREAT together, wow. Another odd couple, but they work. That's fun. They have equal amounts of antiquated kitsch.
Macy and Jocasta don't work for me. Macy is so modern and light, and Jocasta is heavy and historical.
