Rachel
Thoughts on Rachel? Is it too outdated for 2025?

I used to like it a lot, but now I find it bland and overused but perennial, just like Sarah. It's just an "okay" kind of name to me.
I love Rachel. It’s definitely not dated and is husband and my first choice for a girl.
This name has been so popular at so many periods that I don't think it comes across as dated in any way.
Overused, though... I've known SO MANY people named Rachel that I don't think I'd ever use it for a first name.
There's part of me that has always, for whatever reason, thought that it sounded like a fruit. Like, the "-chel" sound has always given me the sensation of being associated with taking a bite out of an apple. I have no idea where that comes from, but it's what I've associated with that name for years.
Anyway, it's a good name. I like it. It's overused. I'd never use it. I like it. All together, all at once.

This name always seems to be around and heard of, so it doesn’t seem particularly dated to me.
It’s very popular and fashionable with me and my partner!
It's not as popular as it was in the eighties or nineties, but it's been more or less well-used for generations, so it never really feels dated.
Lovely name, I just prefer Rae as a stand alone more
Despite growing up in a sea of Rachels, I’m still totally charmed by the name.
Rachel is fine.
I don't think it was ever popular enough to become dated. It's always been in use, since Old Testament times, so nobody is likely to think of it in the way we all think of Sandra or Deborah. I like it very much, though it's too biblical for me to use. Rachel or Rachael, both are good, and both shorten pleasantly to Ray or Rae.
I love Rachel! I think it's classic, not outdated.
