Names from dream I had a while ago
I had dream (well it was more nightmare) in late 2024, I remember it because it was horrifying... anyways namesAleksey – my friend in dream, I lived with him and he saved me from having bad things happen to me. Yelizaveta – girl I was in a shelter with in dream. Melaniya – real person who was in dream. My friend. Yevgeniya – another person I lived with in dream. Rifka – another real person who was in dream. My mom's friend I knew when younger. Akim – russian soldier from dream. There were many other people but I did not get names.

I like Aleksey, Rifka, and Akim. Melaniya is beautiful, but it reminds me of Melania Trump.
It is sad if association makes you dislike name :( there are many Melaniyas in Ukraine and most of them probably don't like Trump
There are also many other Melanias and Melanijas in the world that do not support Trump (my friend Melaniya does not like him at all) I do it too... like Marisol is beautiful name but it sounds very very close to my home city and horrible things happened there :(
I love ALL of these names; I think they're so melodic and wonderful. Aleksey sounds like the name of a handsome, Russian model. My favorites out of the girl names are also Yevgeniya, Yelizaveta, and Rifka.
I did not expected Akim to be from Joachim :0
Would Yela be ok diminutive for Yelizaveta?
Yela means "(she) ate" in Russian. Not a pleasant nickname.
Thank you for info! I didn't thought about it.
Yes that is true aswell, but it could still be short for Yelena or may be Yelizaveta. That would make it less common. Though, it would be fine as a short form of Yelyzaveta in Western Ukraine where people do not speak Russian so much. Our word for eat is yila (їла). We do not use Yela very often here.

Yela is short for Yelena, though if Yelizaveta wanted to be Yela too I don't think anyone would have problems with it. Liza is more common for Yelizaveta, I also met one who went by Veta once.
