Maybe down to three names for our daughter. Opinions wanted
Dagny was a SERIOUS contender for our youngest daughter Lark. Someone suggested the name Dagmar to me and that reminded me of Dagny. We're considering it again. Our daughters are Astrid Lily and Lark Sylvia our last name is Davis.
Our top 3 right now areDagny
Sybil
VerityWe're really in love with all three but my personal order of preference fluctuates. As for middle names we're considering
Dagny: Fern, Laurel, Liesl, Linnea, Love, Lyra, Sybil, Vera
Sybil: Dagny, Fern, Linnea, Love, Lyra, Verity
Verity: Fern, Laurel, Liesl, Linnea, Love, Lyra, Sybil We also like the name Rue as a middle name. We like the sound and the herb meaning. However it also has the meaning of regret, and sorrow. So should we not even consider it or not? Thanks

Verity Linnea gets my vote.
I wouldn't put Sybil (prefer Sibyl) with any name beginning with L.Sybil Dagny
Sybil Fern
Verity Fern
Verity Lyra
Verity LaurelWould by my choice.I don't mind Rue at all. Verity Rue is cute.
I like all three of the first names qua names, but I have bad literary associations with Verity (trite Colleen Hoover) and Dagny (politically horrible Ayn Rand). So I would go with Sybil. Sybil Fern is very pretty. I like Sybil Rue, too.
I think Verity goes best with Astrid and Lark. Verity Laurel would continue the nature connection of all sisters and they’d also share an L name each.
Verity Fern would be beautiful! Astrid, Lark and Verity are so sweet for a trio of sisters.
I would personally not care about the "sorrow" / "regret" meatning of Rue. It has a meaning outside of its etymology (being a herb and most known for being something from nature), its not like you're considering actually naming her Dagny Regret Davis Have you seen one of the possible meanings for Mary? "Sea of Bitterness" is not a charming meaning, and Persephone? "murder" like yikes but both are nice names and have been used My personal order of the names are Verity, Sybil and Dagny. Never heard of Dagny before and while I don't think its my taste, I think its interesting and I feel it'll grow on me a little I vote for:1. Dagny Liesl Davis
2. Dagny Vera DavisI don't think Love and Sybil have the same flow for Dagny1. Sybil Dagny Davis
2. Sybil Verity DavisAgain, I'm not convinced Love flows well, I think it might be it's a one-syllable name next to short names. If the names were longer like Persephone Love Davis or Delphina Love Davis, then it'd work better1. Verity Love Davis
2. Verity Liesl DavisNow this time because Verity is a three syllable name, Love flowes very well with it and is my top pick for Verity's middle in terms of flowIf I had to choose an overall name, however, considering both first and middle options, I think Verity Liesl Davis is the best name :)

Personal favorite combo is Verity Lyra
I like Verity Laurel, sticks with botanical middle names. I also think Astrid, Lark and Verity make a good sibling set. I personally wouldn't use Rue for the reasons mentioned.

Dagny Davis is a bit of a tongue twister and Sybil Verity sounds like "similarity" to me. Sybil is a favorite of mine. The combos I enjoy the most are:
Sybil Fern
Sybil Linnea
Verity Sybil
Verity Fern
Verity Liesl
Verity LaurelRuey is a rare French surname meaning "little brook" so it could work as a nature name.Sybil Ruey

Verity Davis sounds wonderful! I don't much enjoy fn and ln starting with the same initial, but Verity Dagmar Davis would be good. Otherwise, Verity Laurel, though I'd prefer Verity Laura. Rue isn't much used as a culinary herb - I've never tasted it - and, yes, the sorrow-and-regret meaning is unfortunate. What about Verity Ruth? Sounds good, and the meaning of Ruth is much more encouraging.
I would pick in order of preference:Verity Laurel
Verity Fern
Dagny Fern
Dagny Liesl
Sybil Dagny
Sybil Rue

I vote for Sybil Dagny or Sybil Fern. Would you consider Sibyl? I strongly prefer that spelling (the original one).
I wouldn't pair a m'n starting with L with Sybil.
Verity has a lovely sound.Verity Lyra sounds best in my opinion. None of the mns really flow with Sybil.
Dagny flows best with Fern from your options.Rue is ok as a mn. I mainly associate it with the French word for 'street'. There are other herbs out there with no sorrowful connotations. Other herbs for example:
Dagny Thyme
Dagny Foxglove
Dagny Lavender
Sibyl Marigold
Sybil Parsley
Sibyl Primrose
Verity Sage
Verity Fennel
Verity Marjoram
I think that Sybil Linnea is perfect
I like Dagny and Verity! Maybe try Ruth instead of Rue if you see worried about the meaning. Ruth is a very nice name and it has a nice meaning (friend) too.
