Jamar is satisfying.
Is it a fantasy or sci fi story? Drost and Seruni really jump out as names "from another world". Arana definitely feels like a name for a beautiful princess from another planet in a 1950s movie about deep space travel in the distant year 2009. I like that.

No, a Western, Action, sort of "history" type, but I see what you're saying. They really do. At least some of them. I put History in quotation marks as it wasn't exactly accurate. It was just one of those "don't think too hard about it and just enjoy it for what it is." (:
Although the setting does take place in Indonesia, so I think some of the names might be from that region? I dunno. 🤷♀️ (Only some of the dialogue is English, so we of course watched with captions)

Kiona has main character energy, and also sounds Polynesian. Arana sounds incomplete to me.
Reinout and its variations are cool. I like that 'regin' element.

That's so funny, I was going to say "Kiona has rescue dog energy" and then I realized there's actually a lot of crossover between Main Character and Rescue Dog energy!
Maybe it's a cultural thing where I'm from. Almost everyone knows someone with a beautiful dog whose story is that they were rescued from up north or something, and they almost always have these epic names, like Nebula, Sequoia, Kodiak, Aurora, Jericho.... Kiona would fit in perfectly.

I also thought it sounded a bit like a dog name but I didn't want to say anything 😅
Nothing there appeals to me. I suppose Adrie could work as a nn for Adrian or, of course, Adrienne; the others are just random sounds.
