Laurence is the traditional way of spelling the name.

Laurence. The 'w' makes it look a little harsh to me.

Laurence, almost entirely because of Theodore Laurence from Little Women, love him. And Laurie is such a cute nn. But either way it’s a great name!

I prefer Laurence: closer to the Latin and to Laura, which I love. But, Lawrence is a family surname so if I ever used it, mn only, I'd go for that spelling.

Laurence is closest to the original Laurentius so I prefer this spelling.

Laurence, it's softer and more approachable. I'm surprised it left the top 1000. As for Lawrence, it's harsh and surnamey to me.

I prefer Lauro, Loren, Loris and Lovro.

I am biased as I have a cousin named Lawrence. For some reason the W looks more masculine to me.

Lawrence, it’s in my top five!

I prefer Laurence because it’s softer and the tie to “laurel” is more visible. Plus, Laurie is adorable.

I like the warmth and approachability of Lawrence. I like the elegance of Laurence. I flip flop over which I like more all the time! Today I like Lawrence more.

I don't have much preference.
I think if I were naming someone that, I'd use Laurence because I expect it's more usual for a first name.
But I like Lawrence about the same, as a masculine first name.
If it's feminine, then I favor Laurence (less surname-ish to me, and reminds of Laura).
