Somerled
The name of the day today is Somerled. I have always thought this name was really cool and gives me great imagery of the medieval British isles and Scandinavia because of its origin. What are your thoughts on it.http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/87410

I love the meaning, so poetic.
So romantic!
it's interesting and I like the meaning.
I am surprised that the replies here are overwhelmingly positive it rarely happens with long Germanic names.
It's nice
I think it's fabulous!
Cool name! Somerled piqued my interest because it's close to a surname in my family tree, Summerlin. It turns out they are the same name. So, I learned something today!www.houseofnames.com gave this information
"The Viking settlers of ancient Scotland were the first to use the name Somerled. It was a name for the Old Norse word sumarlithi, which means mariner, Viking, summer wanderer, or sailor."
It's got a warm, summery vibe and a touch of classic elegance. Also, Somerled reminds me of W. Somerset Maugham.
And I imagine a troubled british gentlemen, named Somerled in the beginning of 20th century.

It feels like an old wizard name, also kinda like an allergy medication, seems pretty cool in general.
It's fascinating and quite nerdy, I like it a lot! It would suit a fantasy character, such as a wizard. I also like Somerhild and its Latinised variant - Somerilda.
