Re: 2023 - Italian Top200
in reply to a message by Felie
Popular borrowings from English (Christian, Liam, Noah, Nathan; Emily, Nicole...) and other languages (Yanis, Theo, Thiago; Amelie, Soraya...)
Old/newfangled Italian names making a comeback (Enea, Gregorio, Romeo, Umberto; Flaminia, Violante, Luce, Gemma, Sveva...)
The usual rise of Arabic names (Zakaria, Amar, Muhammad; Jannat, Nour, Mariam...)
Presence of mythology names (Achille, Eros, Paride; Penelope, Selene, Atena...).
I also wonder what made Soleil rise in later years. As for Celine, it's either the singer or the fashion brand - or both.
Some names I like from the list: Viola, Arianna, Stella, Camilla, Angelica, Flora, Romeo, Letizia, Carmine, Alma, Rosario, Sveva, Azzurra, Violante, Elias, Ginevra, Adelaide, Lucia, Amelie, Lorenzo, Anastasia, Fabio, Marianna, Brando, Giada, Dario, Zoe, Aurora, Valentino, Bianca, Amalia, Clarissa, Sabrina, Celine, Olimpia, Soleil, Olivia, Veronica, Zeno, Yasmine.
In Spain we have a top 100 and Arabic, Basque, Catalan and Galician names can be found there, apart from the Spanish ones.
