I recently finished reading What's Eating Gilbert Grape after having seen the movie adaptation of it numerous of times throughout the years and liking it. I decided to write down the names of the protagonist family for fun Parents: Bonnie "Mamma" & Albert Lawrence (Deceased prior to story. Mentioned only) Children in chronological order: (4 lived at home while 2, Larry & Janice, didn't. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but don't believe those two were featured)Amy

Bonnie is cute for a grandma. The only name I really like here is Ellen, the others seem silly and frumpy (except for Amy which just isn't my style).

I love the names Amy, Janice, and Ellen for a girl! I also think that Arnold, Gilbert, and Larry could fit a very handsome boy.ETA: I love the name Bonnie for a girl; if I were able to, I'd use it on a future daughter.

I don’t like any of them, except maybe Amy. I love Helen, but dislike Ellen.
