Maeve Marigold is preferred, the "may" sound in Marigold is brief but too redundant with May. The V sound in Maeve helps a little.

I like Maeve Marigold, but not Mae Marigold.

I think Mae Marigold is unfortunate if your intention isn't for Mae to sound like a descriptor (a marigold that blooms in May). If you want it to sound like a phrase, then it works. Mae is ok, but I've mostly heard it in double names, so by itself it can seem plain.

I prefer Maeve Marigold. I usually like Maeve; sometimes it can feel a bit heavy, but it seems more interesting to me than Mae in sound and history. I don't mind the alliteration but probably wouldn't repeat it with siblings.

I like the alliteration and the colorful, late-summer vibe I get from the combo.
Although I'm not really into the names personally.
Mae Marigold flows better, but not enough better to overcome the cutesy, too-rustic feel I get from it.

For a sibling, I'd choose Ida Clementine or James Florian. Sort of sticking with a theme.

The individual names are fine but they’re too alliterative to work as combos.

I dislike Mae; far prefer May. However, May Marigold belongs in a nursery garden. I prefer Maeve to May/Mae, so that would be my choice, except it wouldn't, because I don't enjoy matchy initials.
