No, I wouldn't use Lewis for a girl. But I guess since Lewis is a placename, it could sound unisex theoretically. The Isle of Lewis has a different etymology than Louis, at least.
The names themselves are ok. I pronounce Louis as loo-ee (or lwee? seems nearly the same to me) normally too. I had a uncle named Louis.
Lewis seems a little more surnamey to me than Louis.
