Gaia
I’ve been crushing on Gaia lately. How usable is it? I’m on the fence about how it starts with the sound “guy”. Does that make it sound strange on a girl?

I prefer guy-a to gay-a and I don't pronounce most names that are like x-aia as 'xuy-a' - e.g. for me Maia is may-a not my-a. But with Gaia it works better.
I like it. It's quite cool. I'd be psyched to see it in real life.

I love Gaia. I'd use it myself, although probably as a middle name. It's totally first name material though. I don't think the "guy" sound matters.
I wouldn't be worried about it seeming weirdly masculine; if anything, it seems borderline too cliche Mother Earth to me.

Same
It fits in sound wise with Maya, Kaia, etc
I think Gaia is usable. There's always Gigi if she wants a nickname.
Gaia Rosalind
Gaia Michelle
Gaia Miranda
Gaia Lucy
Gaia Eloise
Gaia Monica
Gaia Lily
Gaia Phoebe
Gaia Sophia
Gaia Melanie

I personally love it. Gaia is one of my top names. I'm not in an English speaking country, So I can't judge how serious the pronunciation issues are. I perceive Gaia as an internationally friendly name that fits with the naturey, vowel-heavy names that are popular noeadays, yet isn't terribly overused. And you can always use it in the middle spot if you're unsure about the pronunciation. :-)
To me it sounds more like gay a. I don't really like it
Love Gaia
I think it's pretty and personally don't find the "guy" thing to be an issue.
