I love it! It prefer Matilda. I have a really close family friend named Matilda, so that just makes me like it more.
I love Mathilde! It's sleek, silvery, and elegant. I don't understand comments about how the "h" is "unnecessary."
Yeah, it's like saying Therese has an unnecessary H. But if (while evaluating its relevance to you) you're used to Teresa and pronouncing them both the same way, it's true. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I like it, it's a rather elegant and dignified name, but I like Matilda and the Hungarian form Matild better.
In a French context, fine. I prefer Matilda, largely because of a rescue dog whose name it was, and who was a most remarkable animal.
I like the teel sound (French pronunciation) more than the English/German till. I think it's my favorite version of the name; the H seems a bit extra, but it's still slightly more minimalist seeming to me than 3-syllable Matilde. I like Matild about equally maybe, but that seems less established somehow.

I like Mathilde but I still prefer Matilda.
Don't like it prefer Matilda
I really don't like the name Matilda, it's ugly in sound and look to me, and Mathilde is worse because of the unnecessary h and the sneaky e. It looks way too Germanic/Teutonic.
