what are really weird non-english names you like?
Hey everyone, I'm pregnant with my first child and we think it's a girl, but we're not 100% sure yet. My husband and I are of Mexican Aztec descent. I've suggested some names, but I'm not really sure of them. We're feeling a bit lost when it comes to choosing a name, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help!

All of these names are a mouthful and difficult to spell or pronounce.
what wrong with that
Some of these names and meanings seem questionable. Xitllali looks like a variation of Citlalli. Xochiquetzal and Quetzalxochitl look like the same reversed, 'xochitl' (flower) + 'quetzal' (quetzal bird). Yeretzi seems like a made up Aztec name.
sorry that is just straight up rude to say that yeretzi is a made up name.It comes from the Aztec language called Nahuatl. The language started around the 7th century AD is still spoken by a few people to this day.But mind you the language has changed over time a little. #Higuma (Higuma Kanora)
I'm sorry you feel that way, but I don't see any clear information indicating the origins of Yeretzi. My assumption, like that of this website, is that it sounds very close to Yaritza, another made up name.
But just because it's made up doesn't mean it's bad. However there is a lot of misinformation about Aztec names floating around on the internet, and I would just like to see the etymological roots of the name before I believe it.

I'm familiar with Xochil (but spelled Xochitl) and Xochiquetzal.
Another less intimidating name is Itzel (or Ixchel), which is not too far from Isabel or Michelle to be relatable and pronounceable for most people.
One name I like is Vercingetorix.

Thanks this helps but I love there different then normal names 😃
It would help to know where you live. Many of the names on your list would be very difficult for non-Aztec people to pronounce and spell, but if you are in a Mexican-Aztec place, that wouldn't be an issue. I would make an effort to pronounce Yolihuani, Citlalic and Anacaona, but all the others defeat me! I love the meanings of all three, but especially Citlalic.
aww thanks so much for trying to pronounce these name at least you tried I live in the USA and I don't really mind if people can quite pronounce the name that right it more of a heritage thing for me and my husband. But do you have any other names you like that are non-English? thanks for your time
