Mavis
I always thought it was a little dusty and dry, but I’m finding myself drawn to it. What do you think of it?I feel like I’d want to pair it with a long opulent middle name; Mavis Georgiana, Mavis Francesca, Mavis Helena. Do you have any ideas? Thanks! :)

I like it. It has the nature association since it is a bird, plus 1890s gothic drama to it, and a touch of 1920s flapper flair. I really like the name Robin, and I have a soft spot for Raven and Peregrine, so Mavis fits right in. Mavis Francesca is pretty.

Don't like it at all, very dusty and dry
I also thought of it as a dated name, kind of like Ethel or Mildred, but I noticed its appeal. It has a similar vibe as Mabel, Elsie or Pearl - short and sweet, but with a gothic flair as well. I'm glad Hotel Transylvania helped popularize the name.Mavis Adelaide

I've always found this name very chic. It's the V, I think I find that letter adds glamour to just about any name! I expected Mavis to get more popular after the Hotel Transylvania movies. But maybe it will take until the kids who loved the films are having their own kids for it to really come back.
I agree that a longer name would look pretty with it.Mavis Eleonora strikes me as beautifully gothic.Others:Mavis Edwina

I love the gothic flair Mavis brings. It's definitely my style.
I can see Maeve and Mavis coming in a big way. Maeve is already on the rise.
Yes, I guess Mavis is too, I hadn't really checked its numbers but it does seem to be slowly climbing since 2016!
I’d argue it’s actually climbing pretty quickly, hehe.
Too slow for my tastes!
Go Mavis! That makes me happy.
