There's a non-Hispanic American poster here who has a son named Hector.
My main association personally is Hector Protector. It's a nursery rhyme. Plus 'Hector Crosses the River' which is an old kids' book. So it seems kind of dorky to me but in a (potentially multicultural) classic English name way.
