Re: I create the Male Names of the Gilded Age Tournament in the Polls; once again, suspicious poll results are happening
The issue isn't the names, it's the consistently anomalous results. I'm just asking that if someone IS voting multiple times, that they stop. I don't want the opinion of a single person shoved to the front, I'm asking the users of this site a question as a group. Someone forcing their opinions to the front is gross and unfair to everyone else. If *everyone* likes Theron, great. I'm simply asking that people only vote once. Getting accurate results in these polls is important to me; as the person who takes the time every day to put these tournament polls together, I don't think that's a lot to ask. People voting multiple times makes the results meaningless, and therefore the time and effort it takes to make the polls pointless.Treat this as a PSA. My polls might look like a competition, but they're a survey. I'm sorry if somebody's favorites don't make the cut; my favorites tend to get cut early on as well. I just want to make it clear that I, personally, ask that people only vote once in my polls, and the reasons why. It's a bit narcissistic and unfair to vote repeatedly, imo.

I don’t think anyone can vote multiple times unless they use a different username perhaps or change their VPN location, but I can’t imagine why someone would see the fun in that. Whenever I’m logged out I can’t vote on the polls that I have voted on while being logged in.
You don't even have to change your VPN location, you just have to turn it off and on again and you'll have a new random IP address, allowing you to vote again. Literally, it's the click of a button in order to cheat, and the cheating hasn't stopped, it's very visibly worse now the further we get into the tournament. Look at the exit polls. All those names underperforming are names I've had written down and marked as suspicious, lol.
The polls aren't a reliable source for "true" scientific study use. That, and I just find it hard to believe that people would care that much about your specific polls over anyone else's. No offense. But again, if you feel that sensitive by that possibility that someone is "cheating", going through an elaborate effort to write a passive aggressive PSA, then you might not be in a good headspace for using the polls for that time period.
You've been incredibly rude in all of your responses, please leave.
I haven't been rude at all. What? 😆 I'm just telling you that's probably what's going on because you wrote an incredible passive aggressive PSA. If that constitutes rudeness in your mind, my apologies.
