I don't think it's the best name for a girl, but sincerely, I don't like it much on a boy either, it doesn't sound much like a name.
If you wanted to name her Chance for the direct meaning, here are some alternatives i suggest, (from more youthful to more mature in my opinion):

Speranza
Serena
Elpis
Desideria
If not obvious enough, these are simply suggestions. If you wanna go with the name Chance, you are free to do that.
