I thought about it a long time ago, when I was doing that thing some of us do, where you nerd out trying to find botanical genera that could be human names. Added it to a list. I don't think it's a great candidate, although it has some appeal.
I can't decide if it sounds hippie (sage) or religious (salvation), or if it reminds me of salve...
I think I'll go with hippie style. Like Sage, but with a spiritualistic vibe, less "nonbinary".
Salve makes me think it could be pronounced Savia.
Then it could also be spelled Savia. Like Savvy-uh.

I like Sal and Sally. Via is too synthetic, unless there were stress on the VI syllable. I don't think there is a name that has a stressed VEE-a.
