I know it's a botanical name, but it makes me think of some kind of ointment you'd put on a burn.
Sally is cute, but if you want to use something as distinctive as Salvia, I'd say don't plan ahead to use soething so ordinary as a nn.
Via doesn't feel like a real nn to me, it feels contrived even if it's a legitimate part of the name. I mean, how many Olivias or Sylvias go by Via?
Sal sounds like a mobster's name. (I know a Sal, and he's not a mobster, as far as I know, but he is very, very Italian.) Ditto Salvie.
